I believe community service provides opportunities and experiences for character development, networking and academic growth. Community Service is something that needs to be done. The desire to act comes from a pride, caring and respect for a community. When an individual goes out in the world and interacts with other people in the spirit of bettering, that individual makes a contribution and will feel a sense of accomplishment.   Community Service provides a foundation for personal growth in and out of the golf industry.

The following are the community service opportunities I have experienced over the years.

  • 2007 British Open Qualifier Volunteer, Oakland Hills Country Club, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
  • 2007 Detroit Zoological Society Volunteer, Royal Oak, Michigan.
  • 2007 Volunteer Captain for the MSU Turfgrass Alumni Association "Class of 1999"
  • 2007 Certified Master Gardener Volunteer,
    Wayne & Oakland County, MI.
  • 2007 Wattles Elementary Parent Volunteer, Troy, Michigan.
  • 2005 Celebrity Baseball All-Star Game Volunteer,
    Comerica Park, Detroit, MI.
  • 1994-95 Volunteer for the House of Friendship Christmas Hamper Project, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
